Selamat Pagi! Hello, everyone. I am Kanery Tjandra. I manage and supervise the entire credit operations at Shinhan Indo Finance which is the Indonesian subsidiary of Shinhan Card. To be more specific, I am responsible for measuring and mitigating credit risks with proper loan qualification review and analysis, implementing, reviewing and improving credit analysis processes and regulations.
신한과의 인연은 2년 전 시작됐어요. 신한인도파이낸스는 한국 최고의 신용카드사인 신한카드의 자회사이자 한국 5대 금융그룹 중 하나인 신한금융그룹 소속이기에 이곳에서 일하면 많은 경험과 능력을 쌓을 수 있을 것이라고 확신했거든요. 아울러 그간 은행 및 복합 금융 분야에 몸담으며 축적해온 저의 경력과 역량이 도움이 되길 바랐습니다.
My affiliation with Shinhan began two years ago. I was convinced that I would be able to significantly build up my professional expertise and competency by working at Shinhan Indo Finance, a subsidiary of Shinhan Card, which is the best credit card company in Korea and affiliate of Shinhan Finance Group which is one of the top five finance groups in Korea. Furthermore, I wanted my career and skillset refined in banking and other financial service domains to be able to help Shinhan Indo Finance.

그간 열심히 업무에 매진한 결과 여러 성과를 달성할 수 있었습니다. 우선 입사 시점인 2022년 5월부터 지난해 말까지 신한인도파이낸스의 영업자산이 약 30% 성장했는데요, 이 기간의 부실금융 발생 비율은 단 0.14%에 그쳤습니다. 이는 경영진과 본부 구성원이 함께 만들어낸 결과라고 생각해요. 여신 업무를 하다 보면 영업 부서와 의견이 충돌하거나 촉박한 일정에 쫓겨 어려움이 발생할 때도 있지만 적극적인 소통과 팀워크로 이러한 문제를 잘 해결해나가는 중입니다. 특히 본부 구성원들과는 매일 소통하며 동기를 부여하고 있는데요, 이를 통해 서비스 수준을 높이고 생산성을 극대화하고자 합니다.
As we are working hard, we have made several achievements. First of all, from May, 2022 when I joined the company to the end of the previous year, the operating assets of Shinhan Indo Finance grew by about 30%, with non-performing assets accounting for just 0.14% of the portfolio during the period. I believe that such achievements are the results of concerted efforts made by both management leaders and headquarter employees. Working in the credit department, I sometimes have a difference of opinion with the marketing department or face difficulties resulting from tight business schedules, but we work out such issues with proactive communication and teamwork. In particular, we communicate with headquarter employees every day to keep them motivated so that our service standards may be enhanced and productivity maximized.

이 외에도 현지 금융당국의 규제나 시장 상황, 회사의 목표 상향에 발맞춰 심사 프로세스 및 규정을 개선했으며, 회사의 수익 확대 및 신용 리스크 경감을 위해 SME(Small & Medium Enterprises) 심사 프로세스를 신규 제정했습니다. 또한 보다 신속한 여신 의사 결정을 도울 수 있도록 신용 메모를 개선하고 여신 심사 건수 증가에 대응하고자 신용평가 조직 규모를 확대하는 등 다양한 프로젝트를 진행했는데요, 이러한 노력이 회사의 발전에 기여하길 희망합니다.
In addition, we have improved the review processes and regulations in line with regulatory measures of local supervisory authorities, market conditions and more ambitious targets set by the company, launching a new SME (Small & Medium Enterprises) qualification review process in a bid to increase corporate profits and mitigate credit risks. Moreover, we have launched a variety of projects, improving credit memos to facilitate credit extensions in the decision-making process and beefing up the credit rating organization in response to an ever-increasing number of loan qualification review cases. We hope such efforts will contribute to the company development.

올해 초 한국에서 보낸 즐거운 한때
지난 1월에는 한국을 방문할 기회가 있었는데요, 영광스럽게도 2023 업적평가대회의 글로벌 베스트 대상 수상자로 선정됐기 때문입니다. 서울로 향하는 비행기에서 신한인으로서 얼마나 큰 자부심을 느꼈는지 몰라요. 또한 일정 내내 신한이 한국에서 얼마나 큰 금융그룹인지 실감할 수 있었습니다.
I had a privilege to visit South Korea in January because I was given the honor of being nominated for the Global Best Grand Prize in the 2023 Shinhan Work Performance Evaluation. On the flight to Seoul, I was so proud of myself as one of Shinhan people. Throughout my stay in Korea I was also struck by the enormous presence of Shinhan in Korea as a financial service group.
2023년 9월에는 문동권 사장님이 직접 현지를 방문해 직원들에게 큰 응원과 격려를 전해주셨어요. 전 직원이 사장님과 소통할 수 있는 좋은 경험이었습니다. 같은 달 신한카드 조직문화팀이 인도네시아 직원을 대상으로 조직문화 연수를 펼쳤는데, 이 역시 신한문화를 내재화할 수 있는 소중한 시간이었습니다. 실적과 능력에 기반한 열정적인 인재 육성이 신한의 문화라고 생각합니다.
President Moon Dong-kwon’s visit to Indonesia in September, 2023 encouraged and perked up us significantly. It was a wonderful opportunity for all employees to communicate with the President. The corporate culture team of Shinhan Card also provided corporate culture training to Indonesian employees in the same month, which also led the employees to internalize Shinhan culture. We think that Shinhan culture is all about lifting up enthusiastic talents on the basis of merit and competence.

신한인도파이낸스는 ‘함께 성장(Grow Together)’과 관련한 기업문화 행사를 적극적으로 추진 중입니다. 지난 2월에는 인도네시아 보고르 지역에서 전사 워크숍을 개최했어요. 이 자리에는 본점 외 3개 지점, 8개 거점에서 총 170명이 참석해 미래를 향한 의지를 다졌습니다. 원신한 협업도 활발하게 추진하고 있습니다. 현재 프라임 고객 대상 공동 금융상품을 선보이기 위해 신한인도네시아은행과 힘을 모으는 중인데 이를 통해 조달 비용은 낮추고 신용 리스크는 최소화하면서 매출은 증대할 수 있기를 기대합니다.
Shinhan Indo Finance has actively launched corporate culture events relevant to the Grow Together theme. In February, Shinhan Indo Finance held a company-wide workshop in Bogor, Indonesia that was attended by 170 persons who came from three branches and eight offices besides the head office to reaffirm their commitment to the future. One Shinhan collaboration is also briskly in progress. Shinhan Indo Finance is now working with Shinhan Indonesia Bank on joint financial instruments targeting prime customers that we think will lower financing costs, minimize credit risks and lift up revenue.

Going forward this year, I will do my best to boost up development of the company by managing non-performing assets and mitigating credit risks and to help my team members develop their competence and career.
